Costs depend on the school and program. Tuition for the programs we have verified so far is shown on each school page, with the date we checked it. Living costs, insurance and other fees are separate, and many schools do not publish every figure, so we show “Not confirmed” rather than guess.
Japanese language schools focus on Japanese for daily life and further study. Vocational schools train you for a specific career. Universities offer bachelor’s degrees and above, and some offer programs taught entirely in English.
Not always. Some English-taught university programs do not require Japanese at application, while many vocational schools and Japanese-taught programs do. Requirements differ by program, so check the program details on each school page.
Many schools start in April, and some also start in other months such as September or October. Application windows can open many months ahead, so it is best to start early. Intake months are shown where we have confirmed them.
